The three main components to have checked are:

1. Shocks and Struts
   Driving with worn out shocks or struts makes your vehicle unstable, unpredictable, and can be dangerous. Worn shocks won’t absorb impacts from bumps and potholes leaving you bouncing down the road. This can lead to safety issues and create other problems including brake issues.
2. Ball Joints
   You may not even know what these are, but you will when they go bad. Your vehicle starts groaning every time you turn a corner. This is the pivot point between your suspension and wheels. If this fails it can be catastrophic. The worst case being your wheel falls off.
3. Control Arms and Bushings
   The control arms keep your wheels aligned and smooth out your ride. The bushings act as a cushion between the control arm and the frame of your vehicle, helping absorb vibrations and maintain proper alignment. When these are bad every bump in the road rattles through the suspension and straight to the wheels, throwing off your handling. These issues can lead to alignment, braking and other problems.
